Aloha and welcome to our Maui Waui Marijuana Strain Review. Surf’s up and so are the crops on the islands of Hawaii. This strain boasts THC levels as low as 20% and as high as 28%. Couple that with a potent 80% sativa strain and you will understand why this is and has been one of the world’s most famous strains for decades. Maui Waui, sometimes also known as Maui Wowie was all the rave in North America in the 1970’s. It was also the most sought after when I started smoking pot in the early 1980’s.
On the streets of Boston at 15 years old we would stand on corners and wait for pot dealers to sell us a bag of weed. In those days we bought nickle bags and dime bags for 5 and 10 dollars each respectively. 90% of the time the weed was brown home grown crap that really only gave you a head ache. But every now and then someone would score a bag of Maui Waui and then the party was on.
No one liked to share when it was Maui Waui. The stuff was gold and very precious. The high was incomparable. You could smoke an entire joint of the everyday stuff and barely get high for an hour. But when you took two hits off a joint of Maui you were guaranteed the trip of a lifetime. We all wanted to move to Hawaii and become pot smoking surfer bums. Alas, that never came to pass.

The Hawaiian Islands are one of the most ideal locations on Earth for growing and breeding marijuana. The climate is perfect, misty wet and cool mornings followed by hot sun drenched afternoons combine to make a growers paradise. It’s not too shabby for human beings either.
Maui Waui is a great tasting strain. It has a strong citrus and tropical aroma along with pine and lavender hints. The high is very euphoric, by definition. 80% sativa is perfect for euphoria and energy and explains why it is the surfer’s favorite. This also makes it a favorite of medical patients suffering from depression. It is a very uplifting strain. There is also just enough indica in the mix to create a nice body high that will buzz throughout your body all day long.
Maui Waui is a legend in the marijuana world. It has won countless awards. Cross breeders will forever create newer and more powerful strains but nothing beats the original. Go catch the wave my friends.
