What are the characteristics of happy people? Obviously this article is not about cannabis, but. Cannabis makes us happy, so we in turn, are happy people. But what else brings that glimmer of bliss? There are a couple key points to keep in mind on a daily basis. Now these are not laws, but guidelines to a happier state of mind.
Be Flexible & Resilient.
Doonsky stated “We are like the little branch, that quivers during the storm, doubting our strength and forgetting we are the tree, deeply rooted to withstand all of life’s upheavals.” You were made to bend, to be flexible, and my oh my. How resilient you are! Life can get messy, we must accept things sometimes don’t go our way. That’s why we have plan B, and C..D..E..
Just be.
This can be difficult for people, we are constantly on the go, feeling the need to fill our days with everything we could possibly cram in there. Once something doesn’t go as planned, we must bend, stretch, compress ourselves to just go with it. Taking the time to step out, and evaluate our current situation is hugely beneficial to us. How can we ever see the bigger picture if we never take the second to step back and take everything in?
Stay Calm.
“Just because we are in a stressful situation, doesn’t mean that we have to become stressed out, you may be in the eye of the storm, but the key is, don’t let the storm get in you.” Staying calm is easier said than done, but in the end. Taking a step back, taking some calming breaths in and out of our noses and re-assessing the situation will ultimately show our maturity, wisdom and experience.
Live In The Moment.
“Live in the moment, for the sheer joy of living it, when you do, each moment has the quality of ecstasy. Whatever the moment contains, joy, disappointment, sadness, excitement-welcome it. Don’t try to force it or change it, just allow it be.” We’re constantly worrying about the future, depressing over the past that we forget that we’re alive. Worrying about the future and depressing over the past is taking us away from what is important, this moment.
Be Good To Yourself
“Life is way too short to be at war with yourself” Kindness begins and ends with you, to yourself. You owe it to the world to shine like that beautiful soul you are. Embrace yourself, your laugh, your eyes, your shape and smile. Take the time to go for a walk, buy yourself that new shirt, treat yourself to dinner and finally read that book. Taking care of yourself feels amazing, and when you’re happy, you make others happy.
